Cookie Policy

How Genify uses cookies and similar technologies

Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains exactly which cookies Genify sets in your browser, what they are for, and how you can change your mind at any time.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads (like your language) and, in some cases, help the operator understand which pages are used.

Cookies Genify Sets

We use a deliberately small set of cookies and group them into two categories: functional (always on, required for the site to work) and analytics (off by default, only enabled if you click "Accept all" or grant analytics in the preferences dialog).

Functional cookies — always on

NamePurposeLifetime
localeRemembers your chosen interface language (en / zh) so you don't see the wrong language on the next visit.1 year
consent_analyticsRecords your answer to the cookie banner (granted / denied) so we don't ask again.1 year
consent_recordedTimestamp of your last response to the banner — used to know whether to show the banner at all.1 year
Session cookies set by Better AuthKeeps you signed in. Only set when you sign in.Session / configured TTL

These cookies do not require consent under GDPR / ePrivacy because they are strictly necessary or expressly chosen by you (the "functional" basis).

When you grant analytics in the cookie banner, we may load one or more of the following providers. Each one writes its own cookies in your browser. We do not run advertising or build cross-site profiles.

ProviderTypical cookiesPurpose
Google Analytics 4_ga, _ga_*Aggregate page-view + traffic-source statistics
Microsoft Clarity_clck, _clskSession recording + heatmaps to improve UX
Plausible / Umaminone (cookieless)Loaded only when analytics is granted, for consistency

If you reject analytics, none of the above scripts are loaded and no analytics cookies are written.

Changing Your Choice

You can change your cookie choice at any time:

  • Click Manage cookies at the bottom of any page (footer) to re-open the preferences dialog.
  • Or clear the consent_recorded cookie in your browser settings — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

You can also block or delete cookies directly via your browser settings. Note that blocking the locale cookie will reset your language preference on each visit.

Third-Party Services

We use the following first- and third-party services that may set cookies on pages where they are active:

  • Better Auth — authentication / sign-in state.
  • Stripe — used for hosted checkout, billing management, fraud prevention, and payment processing.
  • Crisp — only when chat is opened, to maintain your support conversation.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "date" field at the top of this document reflects the last revision.
